Is it a LaCrosse Or an Invicta?

When it comes to brand excitement, Buick doesn’t jump to the top of the heap. Long noted for building near-luxury cars more akin to Cadillac, Buick hasn’t had too many exciting models to brag about down through the years. One notable exception was the Buick Grand National (Regal), but the current Lucerne, and the LaCrosse aren’t special cars, though an argument could be made for the brand’s crossover, the Enclave.

In China, Buick is a big hit selling twice as many vehicles there then they do in the US. Credit Buick’s very good history with keeping the brand’s appeal alive – according to GM, Sun Yatsen, who was the first president of what was then known as the Republic of China, took his first automobile ride in a 1912 Buick. The rest is history.

Skoda Auto: The Story of the Ugly Duckling

It is no secret that the Czech Republic’s biggest car maker Skoda Auto has been in the past – a laughing stock in the automotive world. But things are finally turning around for the automaker and right now it has become a profit producing force for its owner Volkswagen.

The Czech Republic’s biggest car maker is also planning to open up new markets in China, India, and Russia. Skoda Auto was bought by Volkswagen in the year 1991 and become one of the forces behind the latter’s global force. And as part of Europe’s largest automaker, Skoda Auto makes use of quality Volkswagen auto parts for its production like the popular Volkswagen spark plug wires.

Chinese Luxury Car Market Creates a Great Leap in the International Forum

Automakers are enjoying its sales figures in great parts of the globe. Moreover, one of the biggest leaping territories when it comes to automobile market is China. China’s luxury car market consists of Audi, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Porsche and Volvo. These automakers have benefited in the increase of market to more than 45 percent in just one year. The remarkable market growth has occurred in the early part of 2004 to the later part of 2005.

According to R. L. Polk & Co., a reliable provider of automotive information and marketing solutions, the most significant growth of the luxury market can be attributed to Jiangsu province which has created 84 percent increase. Next to Jiangsu is Guangdong, making 79 percent recorded growth in market. On the other hand, Zhejiang province also bagged a 54 percent increase.
