Production Of Toyota Camry Now Starts In China

Let the production start. That would be for Toyota Camrys that would be actually built in China. The Toyota Camrys that would be built in this country would be done in cooperation with the Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. or more commonly known as GTMC which actually is a joint vehicle production and sales company of both Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Toyota.
The production of this Toyota sedan has already started and as part of it all, there was a celebration and ceremony for a good business ahead. The ceremony were attended by approximately 1,400 people. The whole throng of attendees included local and central government officials, Japanese government officials, a variety of suppliers and dealers, and people from the media. Also there were Guangzhou Automobile Chairman Zhang Fangyou, Toyota Motor Company President Katsuaki Watanabe, and GTMC President Toru Kuzuhara, as well as the GTMC’s Executive Vice President Yuan Zhongrong.
Toyota Doubles Its China Sales

Toyota Motor Corp. more than doubled its automobile sales in China for the first three quarters of the year. With said figures, its can be reflected that the automaker has outpaced Ford, Volkswagen and the rest of the automakers in said territory.
According to the report of Shanghai auto association, the Japanese automaker, the world’s second largest, sold 455,539 units from January to September this year. Moreover, it has gained 34 percent increase in the overall passenger car market of China. Aside from China, Toyota is also advancing aggressively in North America.
China-made GM Hybrids Arriving In 2008

General Motors (GM) earlier announced its plan to build environment-friendly hybrids in China. Said manufacture plan is scheduled in 2008. In relation to this, the automaker further divulged an upcoming hybrid mass production at the Shanghai GM plant. The mass production will be a joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation.
The announcement was made the automaker parades its series of energy-saving cars, which include Saturn Vue hybrid and Chevrolet Sequel. Saturn Vue hybrid is a midsize crossover SUV that is first to use the GM Theta platform. Vue uses quality Saturn car parts that include Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery, electric motor, and ‘eco’ light that contribute to its fuel-economy aspect. Vue Hybrid’s fuel savings are 20 percent up from the base vehicle’s 22/27 mpg city/highway sticker to 27/32 mpg.

Just this Thursday, November 9, 2006, the Asian country of China was able to welcome to its auto market the luxury brand Infiniti. For those who have no background on the Infiniti brand, this luxury brand is actually one of those brands under the Nissan Motor Company, which is the second biggest auto maker in Japan.
With the entrance of the Infiniti luxury brand in China, it would be very much interesting to see just how much this one would fare. After all, it could be very much said that Infiniti is going to be a breath of fresh air in the already congested auto market filled with premium vehicles. Who would know? Possibly, Infiniti could be one of the largest and biggest sellers in that Asian country not only of Infiniti vehicles but also of Infiniti auto parts that should go along well with the luxury cars.
